LONDON – Monday 22nd September 2014. Ted Tally, writer of ‘Silence Of The Lambs’, one of the most universally acclaimed Oscar winning horror movies, has been announced today as this year’s special guest speaker at the 2014 London Screenwriters’ Festival (LSF), the world’s biggest event for professional screenwriters in film and television, to be held at the London School of Film, Media & Performance, 24-26 October.

Tally shared with Festival Director Chris Jones what he would ask new screenwriters starting out today, “Are you talented? Hardworking? Extremely tenacious? Because it will take all of that to succeed as a screenwriter.” These questions are at the heart of the London Screenwriters’ Festival, which actively encourages screenwriters to engage with networking, relationship building and entrepreneurial thinking. “Screenwriters’ need to think like producers in todays market, and learn to leverage every relationship and networking opportunity to get their work produced” adds Jones.

During the course of three days, a line-up more than 150 leading writers, development executives, producers and directors working in film, television and games will be taking part as industry experts in a variety of pitching, performance workshops with directors and actors as well as script labs.

Festival Creative Director Chris Jones, who is also a filmmaker and author, says “Now in its fifth year, the London Screenwriters’ Festival is now the world’s biggest gathering of emerging and established screenwriters and is unparalleled in creating an environment for writers to immerse themselves in the great shared enterprise of making film, television, radio and new media content. It is simply the most inspiring, exhilarating and impactful three days of the year for screenwriters.’
